ygolottes.com
November 15, 2007I have been planning to have my own domain for a web blog. At last! I was able to buy and register ygolottes.com. I am still on the designing stage. I'm a bit hard-up with technical terms when it comes to putting up a simple wordpress blog. I sent lots of queries to the support host for my blog— most answers were helpful but there where answers when I would just "zoom in" my face to the screen of my laptop to re-read the answers sent about my queries.
I'm still struggling to change my Wordpress template. I have to ask for the help of a computer whiz to help me set-up my blog.
ygolottes.com is dedicated to my great ancestors who are the reason why we exist today. For their perseverance to make the land productive, for their leadership that unified people, and for their love that is passed on from generation to generation.
For essay and photo contributions, you may send them to jagfdo@hotmail.com or jagfdo@gmail.com. Published contributions will be cited. I look forward to your visits.
Enshi’y Adivay?
November 4, 2007… hmmm I just heard that there will be no adivay this year? Well, from what I heard last month, I guess our Gov is still adjusting to new and bigger responsibilties in the Capitol. They said that the Adivay activities, together with the Benguet Foundation Day celebration, should have started last Oct 18. I asked somebody from Capitol that they only had meeting for these activities– a week before Oct 18— and they had no theme yet at that time…
So I guess there will be more time to plan for the next Adivay— that would really bring together people from the different municipalities and provinces. I just hope and pray that the next Adivay would be another improvement from the previous Adivays.
This activity should not concentrate on profits but instead– strengthen the ties among people coming from different tribes (like the Ibalois, Kankana-eys, and Kalanguyas among others)… I just remember one letter to the editor I read in the Midland– that they traveled from a far Municipality but they were not able to pay for the P5.oo entrance fee so they stayed outside the ADIVAY "GROUNDS"… I hope this incident would not happen again— I guess this is one way of making the Adivay exclusive to some people who can pay P5.00 everytime they enter— and this is not JUST. The province already profited from the rent of the stalls so they should waive the entrance fee or at least make it more affordable like P2.00
