Benguet @ 108

November 14, 2007

Let's CELEBRATE!

Benguet will be celebrating it's 108th Foundation DAY this month. A 1 week trade fair kicks off on November 18 to showcase the different products of the 13 municipalities of the province at the Capitol grounds. Come and see (also buy) fresh fruits and vegetables that are organically grown— mostly from the backyard.

Last November 3, 2007

We went to Pushong, Bokod to visit our dad, lolos and lola who were laid to rest in the (Lamsis) family cemetery. We enjoyed the fresh scent of the pine during our picnic. My son enjoyed gathering pine cones that (according to him) he will put on the Christmas tree for the squirrels to eat. I told my son that squirrels eat acorns not pine cones. The kids enjoyed running around and we didn't have to worry about careless drivers— unlike in the city and La Trinidad, drivers do not make a full stop before pedestrian lanes.

About 90% of the road going to BOKOD is concrete! You do not need to worry about back and butt pains after your trip.  Don't forget to stop in stop overs like "Jangjang"– you will find sellers of tilapia and silver carp that weighs up to 2 kgs– yummy for sweet and sour.

Wild guavas are everywhere until summer. Give yourself a break—

Hello, you must be Jag-jag.
I am your auntie, Myrthena Fianza. My mother is a Lamsis- Prospera Lamsis Fianza.
My niece Emiloone used to mention your name when she was still in UPLB.

Serendipity, they call it- i was looking for a good picture of Tinongdan when i stumbled on this page. You look like your auntie, Claudette. She knows me- we’re of the same age (or am older by a year than her).

Hi,

Nice to know another Lamsis on the web. I’m also having this same family name but until now, I’m having difficulty in tracing back my roots.

Keep posting…. I’ll be interested to find that Lamsis cemetery you mentioned. My dad died and was buried in Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya.

God bless!

To Mr. Julius,

My great grandma is a Lamsis and we have lots of Lamsis relatives at Daclan, Bokod. Try to visit one time… i’m sure you will receive a warm welcome.

Thanks! That’s right, my dad claimed he came from that place Daclan, Bokod. According to my two sisters who now have their families at Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya, our dad (nicknamed “Takuri” - as he is fond of bringing that jug to drink coffee) used to be the driver of a certain “Mr. Jones” in that place at that time. Why not, hopefully we can gather together and trace our family roots. GOD BLESS and thanks for posting!
