Cafe Maleng-ag
August 28, 2007Organic food is such a craze nowadays… especially with the influx of vegetable in China (that are being dipped in formalin to further preserve it and look delicious on our plates)… there is a place in La Trinidad where you do not need to worry about where there food you are about to eat— comes from.
YES… CAFE MALENG-AG. It is located by the driveway going to the Benguet Provincial Capitol. They also offer catering services. It is guaranteed that the vegetable salad and other ingredients to be used in meal preparation are organic. Try their salads and you will surely love it with the various dips that they have. you can also request for special meals in advance. You can also try their organic coffee that is produced locally. They also produce organic sausages.

My Trip to Palawan
August 23, 2007Palawan is a nice place… there are mountains, mangroves and of course the sea. Unlike here in Benguet, it was warm there… it was a good thing that the venue where CICT conducted the workshop had aircon… We spent most of our time in the training hall finishing our storyboards and finalizing our scripts for the digital content of educational materials we are going to produce for high schools and elementary.
There where 7 of us from Benguet State University who joined the workshop. At least we were able to deliver our outputs to the project managers— which was our key to be able to visit the underground river!
We had to travel more than an hour to get to the undergound river. We rode a coaster owned by the Western Philippines University— it didn't have aircon but still I enjoyed the sights (But most of the time, i was sleeping to complete my supposed to be 8 hour beauty rest which was only 5 hours hehehe)…
The underground river tour was a nice experience. We had a good tour guide… there were bats everywhere and you can just smell the stinky odor of the bats. But then when you see the rock formations and wonder if there are living things below your boat— the tour gets more exciting.
OUtside the cave, there are monkeys who seem to be used to seeing people. They are just naughty because they grab things— like our sanwiches that I were in the plastic bag I was holding, a monkey with her baby just grabbed the plastic I was carrying. It was so fast so you better hold on to your stuff when you get to visit the place.
I would love to go back to Palawan for a real break to enjoy nature… there are beaches with white sand and the mountains are full of trees.
