BSU 21st Charter Anniversary

January 12, 2007

The Benguet State University celebrates its 21st Charter Anniversary on January 11-12, 2006 with the theme: BSU: Enhancing Sustainable Globalization. The celebration started with a parade followed by the Ecumenical service and the opening program. The keynote speaker for this year’s celebration is Atty. Andres Acop Cosalan Sr.* He talked about education adopting to globalized standards so that graduates would also be globally competitive.

Atty. Cosalan was the one who filed a bill for the elevation of the then Mountain State Agricultural College to a university in the 70s– the bill was later re-filed by incumbent Congressman Samual Dangwa with some amendments until Presidential decree 2010 was signed by the late President Ferdinand Marcos. Another local leader who helped attain a university status was former Governor Ben Palispis.

*Atty. Andres A. Cosalan is the youngest brother of my great grandpa, Baltazar A. Fernando. My grandpa used his father’s (Fernando Cosalan) firstname as his surname. (more…)

Mushroom Wine

January 11, 2007

I would like to introduce to you the first ever “MUSHROOM WINE”– it is only found and marketed here in Benguet. This wine is from the fresh mushrooms that is grown right in our backyard. It was developed by Jonathan D. Ibis (my uncle).

People who tasted it said it tastes like novellino. I’m sure it will “warm your heart” and keep the doctor away (for sometime- I think :-)

A showroom is currently being made beside the Benguet Provincial Capitol— so that you can drop by and have a free taste of the wine and other products like the mushroom burger patties.

For orders you may contact:

Jonathan D. Ibis, JIBIS Enterprise, +63920-9135325 (mobile)

*** Discounts are given to bulk orders
